The department of Psychology started along with the inception of the college in 1966. It has been taught as a subsidiary subject only and late in 1980 it is offered as main subject at UG level. since then C.B.C.S. and Semester system has been implemented since 2011-12. There are only two Professors in the department. The department has a very good strength of students. The result of the subject remains quite good and the good scoring in the subject helps the students in obtaining better percentage i.e. First class or Distinction. The students also participate in the workshops-Seminars organized in other colleges. In our college also we organize the Lectures of subject experts and scholars from time to time. We also wish to do the needful to start psychology as a Main subject in the near future.

The Department is offering Psychology subject at Graduate level up to T.Y.B.A. Entry level of the admission is 12th pass. Experimental teaching, counseling of students, psychological and mental health assistance to students and ethical upliftment of the students, use of Modern Teaching methods other than the lecture method and Participation of teachers in academic and personal counseling of students are some of the distinct activities of the department
